Courses typically last 10 hours\, or 16 hours if combined with Basic Instructor Training (BIT)\, and include both classroom and range instruction. Candidates learn NRA rules for safe gun handling\, pistol parts and operation\, ammunition\, shooting fundamentals\, range rules\, and shooting from both bench rest and two-handed standing positions. Cleaning and continued skill development are also covered. \nTraining Components\nDuring the course\, candidates will: \n\nLearn NRA policies and procedures\, basic public speaking\, and training methodology.\nPractice role-playing by teaching portions of the course to other candidates acting as students.\nReceive lesson plans\, student packets\, and instructor manuals\, including the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting\, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure\, and Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet.\nTake the Basics of Pistol Instructor Shooting Examination and receive a course completion certificate upon successful performance.\n\nLength: 2 days \nCost $250 \nCertificate: Subject to successfully passing exams and qualification
