Overview of the Qualification Process
- Prerequisites: Candidates must possess a solid background in firearm safety and shooting skills. This can be acquired through previous firearm training or shooting experience. A pre-course questionnaire and qualification exercises are required to demonstrate this background and Basic Instructor Training, candidates must first complete the NRA Basic Instructor Training course.
- Rifle Instructor Course: This course covers essential skills for teaching the NRA’s Basic Rifle Shooting course, including:
- Organizing and presenting course material
- Coaching students on the firing line
- Evaluating shooting performance
- Teaching proper shooting positions, sight alignment, and trigger control
Length: 10 hours
Cost: $250
Certificate: Subject to successfully completion and qualification.
