Winter Fire Craft

February 8 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Cold weather changes the rules.
Wet ground, numb hands, and wind turn a simple task into a real survival problem.

This session is about building fire when conditions are stacked against you.

We’ll work through fire-starting methods designed for winter and shoulder-season environments, focusing on techniques that still function when lighters, matches, and shortcuts stop cooperating.

We’ll spend real time on tinder selection and processing, using materials that actually exist in winter landscapes instead of idealized kit items.

You’ll also learn emergency fire techniques meant for bad days.
Cold rain.
Snow-covered ground.
Wind that refuses to quit.

This is not about speed or tricks. It’s about repeatable, field-tested methods that give you heat, light, and morale when you need it most.

What we’ll cover:
• Fire fundamentals in cold, wet, and windy conditions
• Tinder sourcing and preparation for winter environments
• Friction fire methods and realistic expectations
• Emergency fire-starting options when modern tools fail
• Fire lay and sheltering techniques to protect your flame

This is a hands-on learning environment built around problem-solving, not performance. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of why fire fails in winter and how to make it work anyway.

Cost $30
